Life has been cancelled!! :boo_hoo:

Looks like Without a Trace is gone, along with Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles :(

And the new show The Eleventh Hour bit the dust too, along with Kings and The Unusuals (which I must confess I didn't watch b/c it never kept my attention).

Also gone is Pushing Daisies, and The Unit, and Samantha Who.

Apparently CBS is saving Medium from NBC's cancellation, but Law&Order CI is still up in the air.

Sigh. As always, the round of cuts makes me scratch my head - especially when you look at some of the drivel that survives and passes for entertainment. [smilie=sademoti.gif]

So sad to see so many shows going off the air. [smilie=sademoti.gif] I don't understand what they're going to run in place of them, honestly. Wouldn't it cost more money to start up a new show than keep a current one?

Well, there are some new ones coming. And I know Edie will be delighted to see that Alex O'Loughlin of Moonlight has a new series - a medical drama. Man, just the photo of him in scrubs has me hooked!

And they are remaking the old alien invasion series "V"! Wow - that could be really bad, or... heck Battlestar Galactica did it!

There's also a new show with Jeremy Northam, and another with Joseph Fiennes and another with Rupert Penry-Jones - so the invasion of non-American leads continues.

Here's a site that lists info on shows from all the networks: http://www.falltvpreview.com/showlist.php

And you can see actual previews on some of the network sites for the new shows too. The one for Happy Town on ABC looks interesting, as does Flash Forward and The Forgotten.

So perhaps all is not so bleak?

Although I also did read that they are moving The Mentalist to Thursdays. Seriously? We all have DVRs, so why are the networks still obsessed with Thursday nights? Way to promote a popular new show - put it up against an long-term winner.

I agree it must cost a bundle to start up a new show. My issue is they only give these new shows such a short time to find an audience, and if it doesn't happen instantly they scratch it right away! [smilie=wtf.gif]

Thanks for the linkage.

I thought most of the promo pics for those shows were hysterically stupid looking! Call me cynical but don't a lot of these "new" shows seem like cheap rip-offs of past shows? Yuck. I'm not too terribly thrilled about any of these with the exception of The Wanda Sykes Show - she can be hilarious!

The one I hope gets canceled instantly? Um, The Cleveland Show. Family Guy spin-offs should be considered an act of treason. Or something dramatic. My apologies to Family Guy fans but... no thanks. :yuck:

The Good Wife might be worth a tune-in. I [smilie=heart1.gif] Julianna Marguiles. Accidentally On Purpose seems to be an original-ish premise but I don't know how many shows they can possibly get out of that one idea. Hm.

The skeptic has left this thread. For now. :goofy:

Gah, if it's something I like and start to get hooked on, chances are it will get canceled! :groan: I was kind of bummed about The Unit getting the axe. Some nice eye candy there! :giggles:

I hear you Steph! It's so frustrating to invest your time into something that ends up canned... and yes, it always seems to be the ones I pick! :(

And then there's the ones that stick around that you wonder WHO could possibly be watching!

And Cy - I have friends who find Family Guy hilarious... but to me its just downright creepy. Then again, I find most celluloid talking babies or animals disturbing.

I haven't been around for a little while so I'm just reading this thread now. First I would like to say, RJ - I'm jumping for joy! Alex O'Loughlin back on my screen just makes my day! But then, the sad news of Life being cancelled....I'm crushed! I can't believe they cancelled that!!! And there is only going to be one more season to Lost, too. I guess it is time that it ended but I'm going to miss it just the same...

I grew up loving the series "V" when it originally aired, I can't believe they are bringing it back!

Terminator: The sarah connor chronicles I do understand. It did start getting really dumb this season, IMO.

Wasn't too surprised about the Sarah Connor Chronicles aka the latest taint on an awesome, classic movie. Leave The Terminator alone, I shout! No more TV shows no more sequels/prequels (especially if they star Claire Danes :groan: ).

My sis and I watched them all over Christmas. Hilarious to watch Arnold over the years.

But I agree, the first was the best.
Salvation was good too. At least there were no bad Arnold one liners... but does Christian Bale always talk in that scratchy gruff voice now? I thought he just did that for Batman. [smilie=wtf.gif]
